Stories are basic to life. Everybody loves a good story. We have been reading, listening to, or watching stories all of our lives, so we intuitively know a lot about how they work. Yet, more and more, Christians are unfamiliar with the stories of the Bible and how the grand narrative of God’s Word fits together. Indeed, God gave us the stories of the Bible to reveal great truth about Himself and about our lives, and He wants to draw us into the ongoing story of what He is doing in the world. By focusing on the narrative framework of Scripture we can better understand what the Bible teaches and live out its instruction more effectively.
The Daily Chronological Bible: NKJV Edition presents the Bible in a narrative approach, utilizing a brand new, fresh chronological reading plan. It presents Scripture in three easy-to-remember main acts and seventeen total scenes, providing an introduction for each act and scene to orient the reader to its importance in the grand story. Unlike other chronological Bibles, this arrangement is not date specific, so a person can begin using this edition at any point in the calendar year.
• You’ll find it easy to stay on schedule due to the 52-week reading plan (six readings a week)
• You’ll get a better view of the God’s grand story because the Bible is divided into three easy-to-remember acts―
Act 1: God’s Plan for All People
Act 2: God’s Covenant People
Act 3: God’s New Covenant People
• With the entire Bible is composed of seventeen scenes helping readers understand how the smaller parts (scenes) of the story fit with the larger (acts).
• An introduction is provided for each act and scene to orient the reader to the importance of that act or scene in the grand story.

Been reading this all of 2017 so far. I really like the layout and that is really 6 days a week reading so you can allow Sunday to be set apart.

A Great Way to Read the Bible
The Daily Chronological NKJV Bible is printed chronologically; not in the order the books were written, but in the sequence that the events actually took place. The Bible itself is split into three main acts. Act 1 is very short, "God's Plan for All People," and describes life before the fall and goes a few chapters into Genesis. Act 2, "God's Covenant People," is most of the Old Testament, focusing on the Jews in and out of exile. Act 3, "God's New Covenant People," is mostly New Testament and starts with the life of Jesus. I say "mostly" because Psalms are strewn throughout both sections, as they are placed next to the events that they discuss. Each act is further broken down into "scenes," which basically summarize the main points of that act. The DCB is broken down into daily readings. The goal is to read through it in a year. Having looked into other Bibles like this, I found myself irritated with their dated readings (January 5th, October 12th...) because it made no sense. Many people start a reading plan after January. We all fall behind or get ahead at some point. It is frustrating. With this version, it simply says "Week 13, Day 2." After you have completed the day's reading, you may mark the checkbox at the end of the segment to keep track of where you are. As the chronological setup is meant to help us understand context, it makes reading easier and faster. I also find it more exciting. Additionally, there are weekly reading summaries that help to explain what we have just read, and include a prayer about the subject. If you have read through the Bible and would like a different way to look at it, or if you are trying to read it through for the first time, this is a worthwhile buy.
